Wakeful Journey
Perimenopause and menopause anxiety: you’re not imagining it
Maybe worry has crept in out of nowhere. Maybe sleep has become patchy, your confidence wobbles, or you simply don’t feel like yourself. Many women in their 40s and 50s feel this, and you deserve care that takes it seriously.
Why anxiety can show up now
Hormone changes can affect mood, sleep and how alert your nervous system feels. At the same time, this season often brings big life shifts: children growing up, parents ageing, work pressure, and questions about who you are now. It’s a lot to hold.
How hypnosis may help
Hypnotherapy offers a calm space to settle your nervous system, ease the worry and reconnect with your confidence. Clinical hypnosis is also among the non-hormonal options studied for hot flushes and sleep (including The Menopause Society 2023 Nonhormone Therapy Position Statement). Your personal recording can become a soothing bedtime ritual.
Alongside your doctor, never instead
Please speak to your GP or gynaecologist about your symptoms and options, including hormone therapy where appropriate. Our work can sit gently alongside that care.
For partners
If you love someone going through this season and it’s stirring up stress in you too, you’re welcome to have sessions of your own. When each of you feels steadier, it’s easier to understand each other.
Body kindness
Gentle yoga, Pilates and breathwork can support you through this season too. My movement courses are coming soon.
