Wakeful Journey
Hypnotherapy for anxiety, for when you’re tired of bracing
If your mind races before your feet touch the floor, if you replay conversations at night, or if you feel on edge even when things are fine, you’re not alone. And there’s nothing wrong with you.
Read Adele’s 60-second welcome note
“Hello, and welcome. I’m Adele, speaking to you from Salt Rock on the KwaZulu-Natal coast. If you’ve been holding everything together on the outside while feeling tired, anxious, or stretched thin on the inside, take one slow breath here. Nothing is broken in you—your nervous system has simply been working hard to protect you. We go gently, at your pace, and you stay in charge the whole way.”
Your anxious mind is trying to protect you
Anxiety is often an old alarm that learned to ring early, to keep you safe, prepared and one step ahead. It’s loyal. It’s just a little too loud now.
In hypnotherapy we gently find where that alarm first learned to ring, and help your mind and body learn that you’re safe enough to soften.
How hypnosis can help with anxiety
In a calm, focused state of hypnosis, it becomes easier to notice the beliefs underneath the worry, like ‘I have to hold it all together’ or ‘something bad will happen if I relax’, and to update them with kinder, truer ones. Your personal recording then helps the calmer messages settle in day by day.
For women: when you’re the one holding it all
Many of the women I work with carry anxiety quietly: the mental load, the need to get everything right, and hormone shifts that can turn up the volume. If that’s you, you deserve a space that understands. If anxiety has arrived with perimenopause or menopause, there’s a page just for that.
For men, and for couples
Anxiety in men often looks like pressure, irritability, sleeplessness or simply switching off. In couples it can show up as the same argument, again and again. You’re welcome here too.
What people often notice
Many clients tell me they feel lighter, sleep more easily, or catch the spiral sooner. Everyone is different, and I can’t promise a particular result, but I can promise a gentle, caring space to explore what’s possible for you.
Gentle care note: If anxiety is severe, sudden, or comes with thoughts of harming yourself, please talk to your doctor or call your local emergency number (SA: SADAG 0800 567 567). Hypnotherapy can sit alongside medical care, not replace it.
