Wakeful Journey
Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy
Effective date: 24 October 2026 · Version 1.0
Life happens, and I understand that. This policy is here so we both know what to expect, and so the time I set aside for you is honoured. I’ve tried to keep it fair, clear and kind.
1. The free 15-minute chat
The free chat costs nothing, and you can cancel or move it at any time using the link in your confirmation email. A quick note is always appreciated so someone else can use the time.
2. Rescheduling with 24 hours’ notice or more
If you give at least 24 hours’ notice before your session start time (in your booking time zone), you can reschedule for free, as often as reasonably needed, or cancel and receive a full refund of the session fee. Use the link in your confirmation email, or email adele@wakefuljourney.com.
3. Less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed sessions
If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice, or don’t attend without letting me know, the session fee is usually retained, because that time was reserved just for you and is hard to fill at short notice.
Kindness clause: real emergencies happen, such as illness, a family emergency or a power or internet outage in your area (including load-shedding). Once every 12 months you may reschedule one late-notice session for free. Beyond that, I’ll always consider genuine circumstances with compassion, at my discretion.
4. If I need to cancel or reschedule
If I have to cancel or move a session for any reason, you can choose a new time at no cost or a full refund for that session. I’ll give you as much notice as possible.
5. Technical problems
If the session can’t go ahead or is significantly cut short because of a problem on my side (my internet, Zoom account or power), we’ll reschedule the session or the missing time at no cost. If the problem is on your side, I’ll wait and try to reconnect for up to 15 minutes. After that, we’ll treat it as a late cancellation, and the kindness clause in section 3 may apply.
6. Arriving late
If you arrive late, we’ll still finish at the scheduled time so the next client isn’t affected. The full fee applies. For hypnotherapy (RTT®) sessions, if a lot of time is lost I may suggest rescheduling so we can do the work safely and without rushing, which may count as a late reschedule.
7. Deep Dive credit
Your Deep Dive Focus Session fee (USD 110 / R1,800) is credited toward your first RTT® hypnotherapy session if it is booked within 30 days of the Deep Dive. The credit can’t be exchanged for cash and applies once per client.
8. Packages
Packages are for your own use and can’t be transferred. Package sessions should be used within the support period of your package (valid for 6 months from purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing).
If you decide to stop a package early, I’ll refund the sessions you haven’t used, calculated pro rata at the package rate, minus any fees charged by the payment provider that can’t be recovered. Sessions already held, recordings already created and support already given aren’t refundable.
9. Hypnotherapy sessions and recordings
Once an RTT® hypnotherapy session has taken place, it can’t be refunded, because the work and your personalised recording are created just for you. Recordings are for your personal use only.
Hypnotherapy and coaching can’t guarantee particular results, and a refund isn’t available because an outcome was different from what you hoped. If you’re unhappy with any part of your experience, please tell me. I really do want to hear, and I’ll do my best to put it right.
10. How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method in the currency you paid: PayPal refunds in US dollars, and PayFast refunds in rand to the card or account you paid with. They are normally processed within about 7 business days of being agreed. Your bank or PayPal may take a few extra days to show it. I can’t control exchange-rate differences or any non-refundable fees charged by the payment provider.
11. Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under the law that applies to you. In South Africa, this may include the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (including section 17 on cancelled advance bookings, which allows a reasonable cancellation charge) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (section 44 gives a 7-day cooling-off period for some online purchases, with exclusions, for example for services that have already begun with your agreement). If you live in the UK or EU, you may have a 14-day right to cancel online service contracts. If you ask for a session to take place within those 14 days, you agree that the right is lost once the service has been fully provided, and a proportionate amount may be charged for a partly provided service.
12. Changes and contact
I may update this policy from time to time. The version that applied when you booked will apply to that booking. Questions? Email adele@wakefuljourney.com or call (+27) 74 524 8671.
